COLUMBIA — As America marks its 250th anniversary this year, Columbia is taking time to remember the people who built the community. The City has launched Columbia250USA.com, a dedicated website showcasing the lives and legacies of 26 influential figures—called "Architects of History"—who have left lasting marks on Columbia across generations.

Decorative banners featuring these leaders now line the downtown square, creating a visual tribute that connects residents and visitors to the city's past. The website includes brief biographies of each honoree, with historical content provided by Maury County Archives and the African American Heritage Society of Maury County. Mayor Chaz Molder said the initiative goes beyond marking a milestone: "It's about ensuring that their stories continue to be told to inform future generations."
