<p><strong>COLUMBIA —</strong> Columbia Main Street recognized Small Business Week (May 3–9) by celebrating the entrepreneurs and small business owners that form the backbone of the downtown district and broader Maury County economy.</p><p>The celebration included May First Fridays, which drew vendors, artisans, and music performances that brought energy and foot traffic to the historic downtown square. The annual Upstairs Downtown Tour, now in its fourth year, invited residents and visitors into six interior spaces including Studio Elevé and other creative and commercial enterprises housed in the district's historic buildings—highlighting both the character and commercial vitality of downtown properties.</p><p>These community events underscore the importance of supporting local entrepreneurs as Columbia navigates the tension between growth and preserving the character that defines the city's identity.</p>
